Global Risk-Based Management of Chemical Additives I: Production, Usage and Environmental Occurrence
Bernd Bilitewski, Rosa Mari Darbra, Damia Barcelo - Global Risk-Based Management of Chemical Additives I: Production, Usage and Environmental Occurrence
Published: 2012-01-05 | ISBN: 3642248756 | PDF | 304 pages | 7.47 MB

Chemical additives are used to enhance the properties of many industrial products. Since their release into the environment is a potential risk for man and nature, their fate and behavior were investigated in the framework of the European Union-funded project RISKCYCLE. The results are presented in two volumes, Global Risk-Based Management of Chemical Additives I: Production, Usage and Environmental Occurrence and Global Risk-Based Management of Chemical Additives II: Environmental and Health Risk and Life Cycle Assessment. This book is the first of the two volumes and contains two main parts. The chapters of the first part provide a thorough review of the chemical additives used in the textile, plastics, lubricants, paper, leather and electronics industries, and describe the effect of each additive on the properties of the product. In the second part international case studies on the global trade of these chemicals and their impact on human health and the environment are presented. This volume is an invaluable source of information for scientists and governmental agencies dealing with the risk assessment of chemicals on a global scale.]]>

Export Consortia in Developing Countries: Successful Management of Cooperation Among SMEs
Donatella Depperu, Daniele Cerrato, Fabio Antoldi - Export Consortia in Developing Countries: Successful Management of Cooperation Among SMEs
Published: 2012-01-04 | ISBN: 3642248780 | PDF | 136 pages | 1.21 MB

This volume presents an analysis of export consortia from a strategic management perspective. It builds on the empirical study of nine export consortia promoted by UNIDO in developing countries between 2004 and 2007. Drawing heavily on the experience of actual export consortia, the book combines a rigorous research approach with a more pragmatic view of the phenomenon. Although aimed primarily at academics in the field of management, the material will be of interest to a variety of readers. A comprehensive literature review combines the topics of SME internationalization, strategic networks, and those issues which relate specifically to SME alliances in the form of export consortia. For entrepreneurs and executives, a number of business models and management tools for the successful design and implementation of export consortia are included. Insights into the functioning of export consortia will also be of interest to policy-makers and institutions involved in the development of support programs for the growth of SMEs in developing countries.]]>
